Goran Svilanović is the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities. He holds a LL.B and LL.M from the University of Belgrade. He has likewise studied at the Institute for Human Rights in Strasbourg, the Faculty of Law in Saarbrücken and at the European Peace University in Austria. Svilanović became president of the Civic Alliance of Serbia political party in 1999. He was a Member of Parliament between 2000 and 2006 and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 2000 to 2004, renamed to Serbia and Montenegro in 2003. From 2004 to 2007 he was Chairman of Working Table I of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe. He has furthermore worked with various other organizations and committees in the international arena, largely focusing on civil procedure, civil law and human rights issues.
