Mozambique visitIACA welcomed the South African Parliamentary Committee on Auditor-General, led by Chairperson Michael Tshililo Masutha, on October 9 and a delegation from Mozambique, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation, Henrique Banze, on October 10.

Both delegations were given an overview of IACA’s activities, structure, goals and achievements. The South African Parliamentary representatives visited the Academy to explore opportunities for cooperation and communicated great interest in IACA’s accomplishments and activities, particularly the upcoming Master in Anti-Corruption Studies programme.

 

Both the South African and IACA delegations expressed hopes for mutual and fruitful cooperation in the future, in the fight against corruption. Mozambique’s officials were especially intrigued by programmes addressing the role of media and development in countering and preventing corruption. Deputy Minister Banze informed that Mozambique is close to ratifying the Agreement for the Establishment of IACA as an International Organization and emphasized that the Academy will be an important partner for institution and capacity building in his country.
