On 2 October, IACA welcomed the Bulgarian Vice President, H.E. Ms. Margarita Popova, and government representatives. The talks centered on the importance of international cooperation in the field of anti-corruption and Bulgaria’s interest in participating in IACA’s various trainings and seminars.
Vice President Popova disclosed that her country sees IACA as an important player in the anti-corruption field, and one whose role needs to be strengthened. Mr. Martin Kreutner, Chair of IACA’s International Transition Team and Executive Secretary to the Provisional Commission, thanked the Vice President for her visit and Bulgaria’s continued support. He furthermore stressed the importance of continued close cooperation for successfully countering and preventing corruption.
Bulgaria is one of the Academy’s Founding Members, having signed the Agreement for the Establishment of IACA s an International Organization on 2 September and ratified it on 31 August 2011.
