On 28 August, a Missions Briefing, which saw participation of 31 member and non-member states, took place at the Vienna International Center. Attendees were informed about recent developments at the Academy, including IACA’s growing constituency, the ongoing Master in Anti-Corruption Studies (MACS), and the successful realization of
the 3rd International Anti-Corruption Summer Academy (IACSA). Other issues on the agenda included IACA’s 2nd Assembly of Parties which is going to convene in Bangkok, Thailand from 9 to 11 December 2013, generously hosted by the Kingdom of Thailand, as well as the presentation of the Academy’s Draft Work Programme. Mr. Martin Kreutner, Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA, reiterated the need for collective financial ownership of the Academy in order to secure the continuation of IACA’s successful development in the future. In this context, he renewed his invitation to all Members to use the 2nd Assembly of Parties for pledging contributions. Mr. Kreutner informed all present missions wishing to vote at the Assembly of Parties this December that the instrument of ratification (Signatories) or accession (Non-IACA members) has to be deposited at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before 9 October 2013. Non-members received general information on the organization and about the benefits of joining it.
