On 29 August, Mr. Cobus de Swardt, Managing Director of Transparency International, and Mr. Martin Kreutner, Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for fortifying cooperation between the two organizations in the field of anti-corruption.
In the course of the meeting, Transparency International briefly informed representatives of IACA about recent developments within their organization, including the celebration of TI’s 20th Anniversary which is coming up in November this year. On another note, Mr. de Swardt stressed the important role that civil society plays in the global fight against corruption. On his part, Mr. Kreutner gave a presentation outlining the Academy’s history, structure, and activities. In this context, he specifically highlighted IACA’s new and ongoing Master in Anti-Corruption Studies Programme (MACS) and the successful realization of the 3rd International Anti-Corruption Summer Academy (IACSA) which brought together 69 practitioners from all around the world.
