On 30 May, IACA´s International Transition Team had the pleasure of hosting H.E. Mr. Mohamed Saad El Alami, Minister for Public Sector Modernization of the Kingdom of Morocco, and three distinguished representatives of the Moroccan government.
During the on-site visit of the Academy´s campus, the Minister disclosed that his country is in the final stage of acceding to the IACA Agreement, and affirmed that Moroccan educational anti-corruption institutions look forward to cooperating with the Academy.
H.E. Mr. El Alami and Mr. Martin Kreutner, Chair of the IACA International Transition Team, also discussed the importance of the 4th Conference of the States Parties (CoSP) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), in promoting and reviewing the implementation of this legal instrument. In addition, IACA´s initiative to hold a side event at the four-day conference, which will take place in Marrakech in October of this year, was explicitly welcomed by the Moroccan side. In concluding, the Minister emphasized that the Academy has a crucial role to play in providing practical means to reassure political momentum with regard to the UNCAC review mechanism.
