On 8 and 9 April, heads of anti-corruption agencies, asset recovery offices, and magistrates from participating states of the South East European Cooperation Process (SCEEP) came together in Bucharest for a regional conference on anti-corruption and asset recovery.
The event focused on an exchange of best practices in an effort to consolidate regional cooperation and promote candidate and aspiring states’ move towards European integration.
Martin Kreutner, Dean of IACA, shared his expertise on aspects of the fight against corruption and how IACA can support participating states of the SCEEP in its capacity as an educational institution and technical assistance provider. Representatives of the European Commission, OECD, UNODC, and the StAR Initiative were also among the participants. The regional conference was organized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice in partnership with the Regional Cooperation Council, the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Bucharest, and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
In the course of the working visit to Bucharest, Martin Kreutner also met with H.E. Titus Corlatean, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, and H.E. Robert Marius Cazanciuc, Minister of Justice of Romania, for bilateral talks.
