The third session of IACA’s Provisional Commission took place on 21 June in the Vienna International Centre. It witnessed the participation of a large number of delegates, representing all corners of the globe, and was chaired by Ambassador Eugenio M. Curia of the Latin America and Caribbean Group (GRULAC).

IACA received a delegation led by the former German Federal Minister of Finance, Mr. Theodor Waigel, on 14 June. In January of 2009, Mr. Waigel was appointed as compliance monitor by the Siemens AG. He has been the first non-American to ever hold this position. In his function, Mr. Waigel delivers regular reports concerning the company’s compliance measures.

During 7 and 8 June, participants from more than 15 different nationalities representing different sectors of society attended the “Best of: Susan Rose-Ackerman” seminar held at the IACA campus in Laxenburg.

On June 5 and 6, an IACA delegation led by Martin Kreutner, Chair of the International Transition Team and Executive Secretary to the Provisional Commission, was received by Bulgaria’s newly elected Vice President, Ms. Magarita Popova. The Vice President emphasized the importance of IACA as an educational institution and reaffirmed her country’s full support for it.
