Measuring the Effectiveness of Anti-Corruption Agencies - Expert Meeting 1
The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) convened its first expert meeting to pioneer a standardized methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of anti-corruption agencies (ACAs). Held in May 2025, the landmark event gathered 35 institutions from 31 countries, brought together agency heads, practitioners, and global experts to shape a self-assessment tool created by ACAs, for ACAs. Over three days, participants rigorously reviewed the draft research methodology developed by IACA, focusing on three critical dimensions: the foundations of operational independence (input indicator), the performance of law enforcement and prevention (output indicator), and impact (outcome indicator). The meeting successfully established a consensus-driven framework and a core set of indicators, laying the essential groundwork for a global standard in ACA assessment.
