The first GPMC expert 'think-in', on measuring integrity for better tracking corruption, successfully concludes

The expert think-in on measuring integrity for better tracking and understanding corruption brought together international scholars and practitioners from a wide range of areas, from public management and public service motivation to ethics and corruption risks assessments. This is the first of a series of workshops aiming to improve the measurement of corruption areas that remain underserved by existing tools.

In this think-in, the participants explored why measuring integrity might be preferable to measure the prevalence of corruption and presented insights on practical ways to develop new measurement tools, identify key data to collect, and advocate for the availability of data to address relevant research and policy questions.

See the related Insights Brief by Prof. Liz Dávid-Barrett and Dr. Dieter Zinnbauer for key ‘think-in’ takeaways and listen to ‘Measurement Matters’, the GPMC podcast series about corruption measurement featuring all the workshop participants’ reflections on integrity measurement as a worthwhile measurement endeavour.
