In the morning of 7 September, IACA welcomed the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) of Indonesia, headed by Commissioner Haryono Umar, and accompanied by its cooperating partner, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) - formerly known as GTZ. Constructive dialogue was exchanged among the delegations, followed by a tour through the IACA premises.
The KPK and GIZ expressed their sincere satisfaction with the developments and the success of IACA since its establishment, and showed strong interest in becoming better acquainted with the details of the Academy´s work, viewing it as a role model. With its prime strategies of tackling corruption through reprisals and prevention, the KPK has been very enthusiastic about enhancing cooperation with IACA. IACA’s Chair of the International Transition Team, Mr. Martin Kreutner, thanked the Commissioner for Indonesia’s support and recalled that Indonesia was among the first countries to sign the Treaty establishing IACA as an International Organization.
