During the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), IACA entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the Comptroller General of Brazil.
H.E. Vice Minister Carlos Higino Ribeiro de Alencar signed on behalf of the Office of the Comptroller General and Martin Kreutner, Dean and Executive Secretary, on behalf of IACA. With the partnership agreement, the two organizations pledged to work together in the prevention of and fight against corruption, be it through the exchange of information, development of capacity building meaures, or joint trainings.
The Conference of the States Parties to the UNCAC is taking place in Panama this week. Martin Kreutner, Dean of IACA, is expected to speak before the conference this evening. In its capacity as an observer, IACA will also hold a side event on anti-corruption training and prevention on 28 November. Two side-events are being organized with UNODC on legal incentives for promoting corporate integrity and cooperation and preventing corruption in public procurement systems.
The conference provides the largest global forum for anti-corruption issues, bringing together close to 170 UN Member States and observer organizations.
