On 28 March, Wolfgang Brandstetter, the Austrian Federal Minister of Justice, paid a visit to IACA. The discussion mainly focused on the Academy’s latest developments, programmes, and the ratification/accession status to IACA’s Agreement.
Special emphasis was put on the upcoming conference, “Strengthening the Capacity of Parliamentarians, Judges and Prosecutors to Prevent Corruption in Their Own Ranks: Emerging Trends from Two Years of GRECO Round IV Evaluations”, which will take place at IACA, in Laxenburg, on 10 and 11 April 2014. The event is co-organized by the Federal Ministry of Justice of Austria, the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), and IACA, with additional financial support from the Government of Monaco.
H.E. Wolfgang Brandstetter endorsed the role of IACA in fighting corruption and asserted to continue the well-established collaboration between the two organizations. Martin Kreutner, Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA, reiterated his gratitude to the Austrian Ministry of Justice for its continuous support and expressed commitment to further fruitful cooperation.
