This morning IACA received H.E. Jingme Zangpo, Speaker of the Parliament, and representatives of the Bhutanese government. This was the country’s first official visit to the Academy since its establishment as an international organization in 2011.
The delegation was welcomed by Christiane Pohn-Hufnagl, IACA’s Chief of Staff, and other staff members.
In the course of the meeting, the representatives were introduced to the operational framework of IACA, its technical assistance programmes, and overall role in the global anti-corruption arena. Discussions centred on education in the prevention of corruption, and the Master in Anti-Corruption Studies (MACS) in particular.
Bhutan was invited to accede to the Agreement for the Establishment of IACA as an International Organization at its earliest convenience and to take part in the organization’s standardized trainings.
