IACA participates in the New Development Bank International Anti-Corruption Day Seminar

On 9 December, Dean Thomas Stelzer addressed the New Development Bank (NDB) Seminar on International Anti-Corruption Day. The Dean was invited to speak on the topic of Capacity Building for Anti-Corruption in a Post-Covid-19 World.

The Dean highlighted how the Academy had adapted to the challenges related to the pandemic and elaborated on how it will integrate the relevant lessons into its future capacity-building activities.

He also remarked on the potential for cooperation between NDB and IACA: “I believe that IACA and NDB could provide significant support to the BRICS countries as they battle the current crisis and its effects. One of the key lessons we can take away from the Covid-19 pandemic so far is that crisis preparedness should be included in anti-corruption capacity building in future. This is where IACA can play an important role by sharing its expertise as a global centre for excellence in anti-corruption education.”

The President of the NDB, Mr. Marcos Troyjo, delivered a keynote address. The event also featured presentations by representatives of the World Bank and the OECD.
