The IACA Regional Summer Academy is an eight-day interdisciplinary programme for anti-corruption and compliance professionals from a specific region seeking to sharpen their skills. Previous editions of this popular programme were held in Latin America (Argentina, 2015), Eastern Africa (Uganda, 2016), the Middle East (Kuwait, 2017), and East and South East Asia (China, 2018).

Featuring world-leading lecturers, the 2019 programme will address region-specific topics and enable the exchange of knowledge, experience, and good practices among professionals from a specific region.

Target Group

Professionals from countries in a specific region with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the public or private sector, international or non-governmental organizations, as well as media representatives, and researchers in areas related to anti-corruption and/or compliance.

Applicants with a level of junior engagement demonstrating their potential may also apply.

The 2019 IACA Regional Summer Academy will be the fifth in the series of regional programmes modelled after IACA’s successful annual Summer Academy. The dates and region will be confirmed in 2019.

These interdisciplinary regional programmes promote a deeper understanding of corruption, prepare participants to better address regional challenges and promote best practices, and offer frameworks for durable anti-corruption and compliance strategies.

Internationally renowned professors and practitioners combine theory with real-world case studies, providing fresh insights into regional anti-corruption issues.

The 2019 IACA Regional Summer Academy will consist of lectures, roundtable discussions, an excursion, and a teambuilding exercise.

Admission Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or alternatively a level of junior engagement demonstrating the applicant’s potential
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Citizen from a country or an area in a specified region (TBC)

Participants will be selected taking into account their professional and academic experience.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee covers the costs for the training, including an opening gala dinner, accommodation for eight nights, meals, and refreshments. Details for the 2019 programme will be announced in 2019.

The fourth in the Regional Summer Academy series brought together 30 professionals from Cambodia, China, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Singapore, and took place from 8 to 16 September 2018.

Some 55 professionals from 14 countries in the Middle East region joined IACA’s third Regional Summer Academy – Middle East. The programme, which was is co-organized by the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), was held in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and took place from 9 to 14 December 2017.

IACA’s first Regional Summer Academy – Latin America – brought together Spanish-speaking anti-corruption and compliance professionals from ten countries in the region.
