More than 80 officials from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) of the Kingdom of Thailand completed a tailor-made training at IACA this week.

The three-day programme addressed prominent topics such as collective action, investigation design, public procurement, whistle-blower mechanisms, and organizational integrity, as well as global trends and instruments in anti-corruption.

Participants discussed all these issues with internationally renowned experts in the field, several of whom are frequent IACA lecturers: Elena Helmer and Nikos Passas (both IACA), Georg Krakow (Baker & McKenzie), William Nero (Basel Institute on Governance), Caroline Nicholas (UNCITRAL), Alexandra Smith (Public Concern at Work), and Katalin Pallai (National Public Service University, Hungary).

The NACC delegation was headed by Commissioner Pol. Gen. Sathaporn Laothong. The officials greatly appreciated the learning experience at the IACA campus and the attractive surroundings of Laxenburg, which together contributed to the success of the training.

IACA has enjoyed a close relationship with the NACC since 2010, when the two organizations entered into a Memorandum of Understanding. The Academy has now delivered three tailor-made trainings for the Commission, following previous programmes in 2013 and 2014.

In addition, H.E. Pol. Gen. Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, the newly elected President of the NACC, paid his first visit to IACA in June this year.

Tailor-made trainings are IACA’s customized programmes for specific organizations, corporations, or institutions, addressing the unique challenges that each one faces in preventing and fighting corruption. For more information, please click here.
