On 21 October, the second Anti-corruption tailor-made training for Government officials from the People’s Republic of China was concluded at IACA, Laxenburg. The training brought together 25 officials from the China Academy of Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the National Commission of Supervision, and various Provincial Commissions of Supervision.

The six-day programme, began on 14 October and included sessions on conflict of interest investigations, anti-money-laundering, asset recovery and anti-corruption in public procurement among others. These lectures were delivered by IACA’s in-house experts as well as visiting lecturers. Participants also visited the Austrian Public Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (WKStA) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as part of the training programme.

The participants also had the opportunity to briefly meet with H.E. Mr. Yang Xiaodu who visited IACA on 18 October in his capacity as Member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), and Chairman of the National Commission of Supervision of the People’s Republic of China (NCS).

This tailor-made training is a continuation of the ongoing cooperation between IACA and China, following the successful IACA tailor-made training and IACA Regional Summer Academy - East and Southeast Asia in 2018 and the China-ASEAN Anti-Corruption Workshop co-hosted by IACA and China in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, in November 2016.
