On 19 November 2021, an Agreement of Funding was signed by Mr. Thomas Stelzer, Dean and Executive Secretary of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), and Dr. Nassar Abaalkhail, Assistant to the President for International Collaboration of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On the basis of this agreement, Nazaha has committed a funding of 874,000 USD for IACA to start the development of a project originating from the recommendations of Academia 20 presented at the first G20 Anti-Corruption Ministerial meeting. This initiative to design the global tool to measure corruption will span over five years and is expected to be financed through extrabudgetary funds, provided particularly by members of G20.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been a Party to IACA since 2013 and these greatly appreciated funds will support the organization’s anti-corruption research work.
