IACA’s 12th International Anti-Corruption Summer Academy officially opened on Saturday, 25 June 2022, at our campus in Laxenburg. After the last two editions of the programme were implemented online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization’s annual flagship training is back to its original format, bringing together and empowering professionals.
The Summer Academy is a programme for anti-corruption and compliance professionals from around the world, presently welcoming 55 participants from 31 countries to its campus in Laxenburg. The diverse group consists of professionals from international organizations, public and private sectors, academia, civil society, and the judiciary.
Under the theme of “Practice meets Science”, participants will develop and deepen their existing anti-corruption knowledge, learning from their peers and gaining new insights into addressing and preventing corruption.
Over a dozen expert lecturers from around the globe will address trending anti-corruption topics, such as the newly launched OECD standards, the role of ethics and compliance in global business, the role of investigative journalism in addressing financial and economic crimes, and how money laundering affects the art world, among others.
The training opened with teambuilding exercises, and in addition to intensive in-class sessions, other highlights include a round-table discussion on Addressing the Relationship between Gender and Corruption, an excursion to Klosterneuburg, and a festive closing ceremony.
During the week, Summer Academy participants will have excellent networking opportunities and eventually join IACA’s alumni network of nearly 4,300 anti-corruption and compliance professionals from 168 countries and jurisdictions.
