On 2 October, the Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA, Mr. Thomas Stelzer, participated in the ICSS Executive Program on Sport Integrity. Mr. Stelzer contributed as a speaker in a session chaired by Mr. Diogo Guia, an ICSS expert and Director of Public Policy. Mr. Richard Caborn, the former Minister for Sport in Britain and a member of the British Parliament, also participated as an International Invited Expert.
"Academia and various international structures providing capacity-building support have an important role in safeguarding the future of the sport," said Mr. Stelzer. "The Academy will be glad to join forces and develop collaboration with sport organizations and provide necessary support in promoting integrity and compliance, conducting research, and providing training on anti-corruption for various categories of professionals."
The program's main objective was to help people understand the various types of threats to the integrity of sport, with a focus on corruption. The program also aimed to build expertise in sharing information about the risks of corruption in sport and show how corruption affects regional sport organizations.
