Statement of the Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA, Mr. Thomas Stelzer, on the disastrous earthquake in Türkiye and Syria

It was with utmost grief that I learnt of the truly devastating impact of the earthquake in Kahramanmaras and the major parts of Southern Turkiye and northeastern Syria. The tragic loss of life is deeply mourned and the significant destruction of critical infrastructure and property cannot be understated.

We at the International Anti-Corruption Academy stand in full solidarity with the people of Turkiye and Syria and express our sincere condolences to the families of all those who were affected.

In the wake of this disaster, I would like to commend the bravery of the rescue forces who are working tirelessly in both countries. I also praise the nations coming together in this tragedy to form closer relations, administer aid, and work to minimize the damage caused by this earthquake.

Our thoughts remain with the people of Türkiye and the people of Syria in these difficult times.
