Chinese Academics Visit IACA

Experts from the China Anti-Corruption Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences were on campus earlier this week to explore potential opportunities for cooperation and learn more about IACA’s work in empowering anti-corruption and compliance professionals around the world.

The Research Center is a specialized think tank that focuses on anti-corruption theories and policy applications and serves as a platform for the exchange of expertise and best practices.

The meeting addressed current challenges and trends in the global fight against corruption and both institutions presented their areas of work, with IACA highlighting its recently launched research fellowship programme among many other activities.

IACA has previously engaged in joint education and training activities with other Chinese institutions in the area of anti-corruption and compliance. In November 2016, IACA and China co-hosted a China-ASEAN Anti-Corruption Workshop in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Among other topics, the workshop addressed ways to strengthen regional cooperation between China and the countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the fight against corruption.

China acceded to the Agreement for the Establishment of IACA as an International Organization in September 2014.
