IACA’s Dean on the Multi-Stakeholder Approach in Lima

IACA’s Dean and Executive Secretary, Martin Kreutner, participated at the VI International Anti-Corruption Conference, organized by the Comptroller General’s Office, in Lima, Peru, last week.

The event was opened by H.E. Pedro Cateriano, Prime Minister of Peru, Óscar Quezada, Rector of the University of Lima, and Fuad Khoury, Comptroller General.

Mr. Kreutner delivered the keynote speech on the multi-stakeholder approach on the first day, touching upon the shared responsibility of all sectors of society in the prevention of and fight against corruption. He spoke about emerging actors and roles, and how these can create chances for change and also generate risks for commotion and distraction.

In the framework of the three-day conference, five Peruvian presidential candidates presented their anti-corruption proposals, which were then discussed during the panels.

The Comptroller General’s Office of Peru is the primary independent auditor in the country’s National Control System, responsible for supervising the legality of government spending, public debt operations, and the actions of institutions under its control.
