The Director General of the International Centre for Migration and Policy Development (ICMPD), H.E. Michael Spindelegger, paid his first official visit to IACA today since assuming office at the start of this year.
H.E. Mr. Spindelegger and Martin Kreutner, Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA, spoke about the growing importance of the migration-corruption nexus and its implications for migrants, policymakers, and local communities alike. In this context, they pledged to continue working together to strengthen human rights and safeguard the rule of law, and discussed furthering the long-standing cooperation between ICMPD and IACA both on a global and regional level.
ICMPD is an international organization that aims to promote innovative, comprehensive, and sustainable migration policies and to function as a service exchange mechanism for governments and organizations. It is one of IACA’s Founding Members and ratified the Agreement for the Establishment of IACA as an International Organization in January 2011.
