IACA signs MoU with The Institute for Human Security for Latin America and the Caribbean (ISHALC)

IACA has gained a new partner in the fight against corruption in Latin America through the signing of an MoU with The Institute for Human Security for Latin America and the Caribbean (ISHALC). The MoU was signed by the Dean of IACA, Mr. Thomas Stelzer, and the President Director of ISHALC, Mr. Eduardo Cesar Leite, at the opening of ISHALC´s new center in São Paulo, Brazil, on 10 March 2020. Through this MoU, both partners aim to promote a greater involvement of IACA in the region.
322 ISHALC MAR2020 web ISHALC considers the fight against corruption an important aspect of Human Security, as it strengthens the rule of law. The work of the Institute is centered on the well-being of the people, ensuring that they can create political systems that allow them to live in dignity with their rights respected. ISHALC is conceptually based on the 7 pillars of human security (Economic, Food, Health, Environmental, Citizen, Community and Political) which are reflected in the UN´s Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). IACA and ISHALC are united in their commitment to supporting states in their efforts to achieve the SDGs.

IACA has been active in Latin America recently with the Regional Summer Academy also being held in São Paulo in September 2019. It is expected that through this MoU, IACA´s engagement in the region can be strengthened.
