International Anti-Corruption Summer School for Students and Young People, Asia Edition: APPLICATIONS OPEN

Corruption is a complex social, political, and economic phenomenon with far-reaching consequences to the economic development, stability, and environment, among others. It undermines the institutions, civic and ethical values, and justice. Numerous everyday situations represent a challenge to individual integrity and ethical judgement, therefore combating such a complex phenomenon requires multiple and collective approaches, including education programmes that contribute to transforming societal attitudes and practices and empower future generations to resist and prevent corruption.

International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) are joining forces to organize the first international anti-corruption summer school for students and young people from Asia.

The 7-day programme will seek to equip students and young people with ethical skills and mindsets and will raise awareness among them of the values and principles of integrity, ethics, and anti-corruption. Summer School is designed for young enthusiastic individuals that want to become ethical agents of change in their environment and will equip them with knowledge on how to identify, resist, and prevent corruption. The programme will offer insights into both theoretical and practical knowledge on what corruption is and what are its harmful impacts on the society.

The first edition of the International Anti-Corruption Summer School is open to interested applicants who are 18 – 29 years old, and are nationals of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia or Nepal. Number of places in the programme is limited, and participants will be selected based on their language ability, educational background, personal interest in the topic, and motivation.
