IACA’s Power of the Pen Training for Nationals of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, and Senegal Opens for Applications

Applications are open for IACA’s Power of the Pen Training. The full programme consists of a three-day training in November 2022 and practical follow-up sessions in May 2023. The workshop will draw together journalists and media professionals from Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, and Senegal who aim to further develop their skills in investigating, addressing, and reporting on corruption.

The training will take place online via live sessions delivered in French. By taking part in the training, participants will expand their expertise, build a common knowledge base, and strengthen regional capacities to effectively fight corruption through media and the power of the pen.

The programme will cover how investigative journalism can fight corruption, the risks associated with covering corruption and how to mitigate them, the protection of journalistic sources, open-source research methods, and more.
