IACA continues to innovate in delivering educational activities with impact, where students promote real change in local communities. During the months of March and April, the Academy conducted fieldwork activities to strengthen students' Collective Action projects in Azerbaijan, South Korea and Malaysia. These efforts were implemented in the framework of the Anti-Corruption Collective Action Certificate (ACCA) 2023.
In March, an ACCA participant presented her Collective Action project in Baku, Azerbaijan. Her initiative is promoting whistleblower protection mechanisms in the private sector. By engaging various stakeholders, the project paved the way for an effective speak-up policy within companies.
Another ACCA participant’s project centered on strengthening public integrity in South Korea. The project seeks to tackle petty corruption in the public sector by enhancing preventive measures based on collaboration. In Malaysia, one project, which is implemented in the districts of Dungun and Marang, has focused on facilitating collaboration between government, citizens, and private service providers. Its goal is to prevent malpractices and especially corruption. In the framework of the second project in Malysia, which is implemented in the central region of the country, the government seeks to generate closer collaboration between regulators and the private sector to promote a more effective corruption prevention system.
Thanks to the support of the Siemens Integrity Initiative, all these projects have already generated tangible results and their Collective Action approach helps to achieve a sustainable impact in the fight against corruption.
