On 23 May 2024, Cecilia Müller Torbrand, CEO of the (MACN), visited the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) premises in Laxenburg, Austria.
MACN and IACA have been closely collaborating for the past three years, in particular in the framework of the Anti-Corruption Collective Action Certificate (ACCA). Through this partnership, MACN nominees learned about tools and methodologies to strengthen the implementation of Collective Action projects in different countries. IACA’s students have furthermore benefited from the MACN experience through lectures and expert talks by Ms. Torbrand.
During the meeting, Ms. Torbrand talked about the activities of MACN and its tangible impact on the reduction of corruption in the maritime sector. IACA representatives presented the activities of the Academy and the potential of its global reach, especially considering the vast network of alumni, who actively promote the fight against corruption in their countries and institutions. Furthermore, both organizations agreed to explore new areas where they could join forces to keep advancing on the fulfillment of their mandates.
As the only international organisation dedicated to anti-corruption education and research, IACA is committed to strengthening its global alliances. Partnerships with MACN and other institutions in the sector are essential to advance IACA’s objectives.
