IACA’s 14th International Anti-Corruption Summer Academy officially opened on Saturday, 8 June 2024, at our campus in Laxenburg. This year, we are proud to host 64 participants from 27 countries.
This specialized Summer Academy program brings together international participants from various sectors to learn, exchange skills, and share expertise in combating corruption. Under the theme “Practice Meets Science”, the Summer Academy equips participants with evidence-based approaches, focusing on real case studies how to tackle corruption.
The programme includes discussions on building corruption measurement and prevention systems, the economic impact of corruption, organized crime and money laundering. Moreover, this year, IACA has broadened the curriculum of the Summer Academy for participants to learn about how latest advancements in AI can be leveraged to enhance detection, prevention, and enforcement efforts.
The program began with in-class sessions, followed by team-building exercises. Alongside the courses, the Summer Academy features extracurricular activities such as an excursion to a picturesque town of Klosterneuburg, and a festive closing ceremony.
In order to support the participation of individuals from less-privileged parts of the world, the meritbased full scholarships are provided by the Siemens Integrity Initiative, Golden Stretch Funding Round. The IACA expresses its sincere graditute to Siemens for this grant.
Throughout the week, participants will have numerous opportunities to connect with fellow professionals and join the IACA alumni network, which involves more than 5,800 anti-corruption and compliance professionals from 168 countries and jurisdictions.
