The 14th International Anti-Corruption Summer Academy, the flagship program of IACA, concluded on Friday, 14 June 2024, at our Laxenburg campus with a closing ceremony. Supported by the Siemens Integrity Initiative's generous funding, the 2024 Summer Academy hosted 63 anti-corruption and compliance professionals from 27 countries for an intensive seven-day program.
The Summer Academy provides a distinctive forum where individuals from diverse backgrounds convene to share insights and expertise in combating corruption through collaborative engagement. This year, participants represented a spectrum of sectors including public and private organizations, international bodies, academic institutions, and civil society worldwide. They benefited from lectures delivered by representatives of various institutions, such as the Geneva School of Diplomacy, SOAS University of London, the Vienna’s Institute for Human Sciences, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
The program effectively integrates anti-corruption and compliance theory with real-world applications. This year’s sessions encompassed a wide array of subjects, ranging from global legal frameworks and emerging technologies to ethics and methodologies for detecting and probing corruption. The interdisciplinary nature of the Summer Academy fosters a holistic exploration of anti-corruption and compliance, integrating legal, ethical, economic, and technological viewpoints. The highlight of the Summer Academy 2024 was the introduction of a new topic: AI Evolutions. This helped participants to gain a profound understanding of AI's transformative impact in the anti-corruption field.
Participants will also benefit from joining the IACA’s alumni network of anti-corruption and compliance professionals, which includes over 5,800 members from 168 countries and jurisdictions.
