Fourth Training for the Agency for Prevention of Corruption of the Republic of Serbia

Fourth Training for the Agency for Prevention of Corruption of the Republic of Serbia

Forensic investigation has taken an increasingly important role in combatting financial fraud and corruption. Between 4 and 5 November 2024, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) conducted the fourth training in Serbia on the topic of financial forensics for the officials of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption of the Republic of Serbia.

Within the broad topic, and through several practical cases, the specific points regarding asset concealment, politically exposed persons and associated risks, as well as illegal assets tracing and financial profiling were studied.

The training is part of the EUROLIS project aimed at supporting Serbian institutions on the road to the EU Accession, particularly related to Chapters 23 and 24 of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and Serbia. The project is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation.

IACA organised this training in close collaboration with the Agency for Prevention of Corruption of the Republic of Serbia. The training was attended by 12 persons and conducted by two experts from Slovenia, Mr. Aleš Behram, IACA Frequent Lecturer and acclaimed compliance and integrity expert, and Ms. Mojca Koder, certified fraud examiner and internal auditor.

In the continuation of the project, several more trainings for the Agency for Prevention of Corruption of the Republic of Serbia contributing to improving the knowledge on the fight against corruption may be expected.
