From 17 to 21 February 2025, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) hosted 13 senior officials of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption of the Republic of Serbia (APC). This five-day training, held at IACA premises, focused on key anti-corruption topics, including citizen engagement in corruption prevention activities, ethical decision-making, and electronic evidence, among others. The programme also explored the perspectives of the anti-corruption agencies in the European Union and provided insights into communication strategies and media plans tailored to anti-corruption agencies.

During this intensive week, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Internal Audit and Compliance Group of the City of Vienna, the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Economic Crime and Corruption, the Austrian Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

This activity was organized in cooperation with the Agency for Prevention of Corruption as part of the EUROLIS project, which supports Serbian institutions in their journey toward the EU Accession, specifically related to Chapters 23 and 24 of the Stabilization and Association Agreement between the EU and Serbia. This tailor-made training marks the conclusion of a series of seven activities organized for the Agency over the course of two years within this project, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of Austrian Development Cooperation.

The final activity that IACA will provide within this project is a training delivered in collaboration with the second beneficiary institution, the Office of the Commissioner for Free Access to Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Serbia. Although only four trainings were initially envisioned for the Commissioner’s Office, IACA is pleased to announce that an additional training will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, in April 2025.
