Dear Friends,
On 8 March, we celebrate a significant milestone: the 14th anniversary of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA). On this occasion IACA wishes to renew its commitment to make a profound global impact by providing anti-corruption education to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity.
The Academy continues to expand its global reach to professionals from all corners of the world. In 2024, a major highlight was the graduation of the first cohort from our Master Programme taught entirely in Spanish, marking a step forward in making anti-corruption education more accessible. Altogether, 34 graduates of four master’s programmes of IACA represented 24 countries.
Building on this success, we have begun preparations for introducing academic programmes in other languages, starting with Arabic and French, further strengthening our multilingual offerings.
We continue to push the boundaries of our educational offering with impact-driven learning. Under our Anti-Corruption Collective Action Certificate, students are implementing collective action projects. These include tackling corruption in key sectors, from preventing corruption in Malaysia to protecting whistleblowers in Azerbaijan, and strengthening anti-corruption efforts in Malawi’s real estate sector. Most recently, two additional Collective Action projects have been launched to promote behavioral change in Nigerian public administration and to prevent corruption in ports.
Recognizing our innovative approach, the European Partners Against Corruption (EPAC) honored IACA with an innovation award for integrating collective action projects into our curriculum.
Another major step forward came at the 13th session of the Assembly of Parties, where IACA’s new Work Programme 2025–2028 was endorsed, paving the way for key developments, including the launch of our Ph.D. programme.
Beyond academia, in November 2024, the first edition of our Annual Conference on Global Trends and Challenges in Preventing and Combating Corruption successfully brought together 31 experts to share insights across expert panels.
As we mark this anniversary, we also reaffirm our commitment to gender equality. International Women’s Day reminds us of the crucial role women play in combating corruption and driving systemic change. At IACA, we strive to empower women through leadership opportunities, recognizing that corruption disproportionately affects them by deepening inequalities and limiting access to opportunities.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our Member States, Partners, Boards, Faculty, Alumni, and all those who support IACA’s mission. Though small in size, IACA continues to drive meaningful change on a global scale. Together, let us reaffirm our commitment to a corruption-free world - one where gender equality and empowerment are at the heart of sustainable progress.
