From 8 to 9 April 2025, Professor Slagjana Taseva, Dean and Executive Secretary of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), participated in the Partnerships for Anticorruption Global Forum hosted by the World Bank Group's Anticorruption for Development Global Program (AC4D) and the International Corruption Hunters Alliance (ICHA)  in Washington, D.C. The event brought together key stakeholders to share strategies and strengthen global efforts against corruption.

During the forum, Professor Taseva joined Mr. Alan Bacarese, Director at the World Bank’s Integrity Vice Presidency, for a public dialogue focused on coordinated approaches and knowledge-sharing.

During her intervention, the Dean said that “IACA is open to cooperation with various international, regional, and national actors both in developing and implementing capacity building initiatives and in research activities.”

Furthermore, the Dean emphasized the potential for joint work in corruption risk assessments, technical assistance, and research. “We see a strong potential for collaboration with the World Bank in conducting joint analysis of typologies of corruption and related crimes” – she stressed.

IACA’s training for investigative journalists, “Power of the Pen” was highlighted as a key tool for empowering the media and assisting journalists in many countries to expand their expertise, build a common knowledge base, and strengthen capacities to effectively fight corruption through media.  

The Dean referred to IACA’s expanding research, particularly to its Global Programme on Measuring Corruption and the 2nd Global Conference on Harnessing Data to Improve Corruption Measurement set for December 2025 at the UN Headquarters in New York. In this context, Prof. Taseva stressed that: “Our goal is to develop better indicators to assess performance of anti-corruption authorities and to stimulate evidence-based policymaking.”

Professor Taseva also met with Mr. Mouhamadou Diagne, Vice President of Integrity at the World Bank Group. The discussion built on a strong partnership that began with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2011.
