From 14 April to 9 May 2025, the Academic Programmes Department of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) hosted the live-session phase of Module 3 for the Master in Anti-Corruption Studies (MACS) and the International Master in Anti-Corruption Compliance and Collective Action (IMACC) 2024 cohorts. The students participated in interactive online sessions to complete their module, which focused on the Sociological, Criminological, and Political Economy Approaches to Studying Corruption.

The module featured a diverse range of interdisciplinary lectures delivered by globally renowned anti-corruption experts. Students benefited from insights of Dr. Mushtaq Khan, Dr. Morten Koch Andersen, Dr. Jeroen Maesschalck and Dr. Pallavi Roy, as well as IACA’s Academic Faculty Mr. Pawan Kumar Sinha, and Mr. Martin Zapata.

In addition, students participated in two expert talks delivered by Dr. Srinivas Yanamandra and Mr. Martin Kreutner, Emeritus Dean of IACA. Moreover, they attended a webinar on fighting corruption through art.

The MACS & IMACC cohorts explored key social science perspectives on corruption, with courses covering Politics, Development, Governance and Corruption; the Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology of Corruption; Corporate Social Responsibility; Collective Action; and the Role of Emerging Technologies. Moreover, the second element of the master programmes Social Science Research Methods course took place.

The MACS and IMACC programmes provide comprehensive interdisciplinary academic and practical approaches to countering corruption, strengthening compliance, and promoting collective action. Both programmes are available in an online format, enabling participants from around the globe to engage flexibly.
