Between 20 and 21 May 2025, IACA organized a two-day tailor-made training on integrity and anti-corruption in sport for the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Nazaha), in Riyadh.

Twenty-four participants attended the sessions led by Dr. Norbert Rubicsek, Director of the CSCF Sport Integrity Group, and Prof. Eduard Ivanov, Head of the Research Department at IACA.

During the workshop, participants examined the risks of corruption and explored various forms of corrupt practices within the sports sector. Particular emphasis was placed on the identification, prevention, and detection of sports manipulation—commonly referred to as match-fixing. The discussions extended beyond traditional sports to include the rapidly growing e-sports industry, which has seen significant global expansion in recent years.

The second day of the training was dedicated to the topic of integrity in sport. Dr. Rubicsek presented an overview of preventive measures against corruption at major sports events, while Professor Ivanov delivered a lecture on integrity and compliance within sports organizations. Participants actively engaged with the speakers, contributing their own experiences from diverse sporting events and sports associations throughout the MENA region.
