On 17 June, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) participated in the 2025 OPEC Fund Development Forum, held at the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna, Austria. This year’s theme was “A Transition that Empowers Our Tomorrow.”

The Forum was opened by the OPEC Fund President Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, alongside the President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania and the Minister of Finance Mohammed Aljadaan of Saudi Arabia. Senior government officials from across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Caribbean, together with heads of multilateral institutions, came together to advance solutions to some of the world’s most pressing development challenges.

On the margins of the Forum, Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa and the Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA, Prof. Slagjana Taseva, signed on behalf of the OPEC Fund and IACA a Memorandum of Understanding. The document sets a framework for comprehensive cooperation between the two partners. In particular, it foresees the organization of tailored training programmes that promote institutional transparency, build anti-corruption capacity, and foster good governance within the OPEC Fund and its partner countries.
