On Monday, 23 June 2025, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) celebrated a key milestone with the virtual graduation of the third cohort of its pioneering Anti-Corruption Collective Action Certificate (ACCA) Programme.
This year’s graduating class included 11 professionals from 9 countries, each leading tangible Collective Action initiatives to address corruption in their sectors.
The ceremony brought together ACCA 2024 graduates, alumni, IACA staff, academics, and key stakeholders, marking both a celebration of the cohort’s achievements and a renewed commitment to IACA’s mission of delivering impact-driven education.
This year, eleven ACCA students implemented diverse anti-corruption initiatives in Argentina, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, and South Africa. These initiatives span a wide range of sectors, including fisheries, port management, public sector integrity, transport, youth leadership, MSME trade, fertilizer distribution, gold mining, customs administration, and sports—each aiming to enhance transparency, foster collaboration, and prevent corruption.
During the ceremony, graduates presented their projects, sharing practical insights and experiences from their respective countries.
This programme is implemented thanks to the support of the Siemens Integrity Initiative. Representing the organization, Mr. Shawn Teixeira, Head of the Initiative, praised IACA for its visionary approach and its role in building a diverse global network of anti-corruption professionals.
He encouraged graduates to be creative and strategic in engaging stakeholders and to become the Collective Action champions the world urgently needs. He closed by congratulating and urging them to stay connected to the IACA community and committed to the global fight against corruption.
The event concluded with the virtual awarding of certificates, marking the graduates’ successful completion of the programme and their entry into the global Collective Action movement.
With the graduation of this third cohort, the programme has now provided extensive training and tailored support to 30 participants, leading to the implementation of 30 Collective Action projects across 23 countries. Demonstrating IACA’s commitment to practical, on-the-ground impact, the Academy has also supported in-person fieldwork for 11 of these projects in 9 countries.
With a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to learning, the ACCA curriculum consists of two in-depth online modules that blend theoretical foundations with applied practice. Throughout the programme, participants receive ongoing, individualized mentoring to guide the development and execution of their Collective Action initiatives.
