Since 2 June 2025, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) has hosted the live session phase for the Master in Anti-Corruption Studies (MACS) and International Master in Anti-Corruption Compliance and Collective Action (IMACC) programmes for the 2024 cohorts. The students participated in online live sessions to complete their fourth module, titled “Using Economic Theories and Behavioural Economics to Study Corruption.”

As part of this module, lectures were delivered by renowned anti-corruption experts and faculty members, including Theodoros Alysandratos, Robert Klitgaard, Ina Kubbe, Pallavi Roy, and Christopher Yukins.

Throughout the course, the classes covered a wide range of interdisciplinary and practice-oriented topics related to anti-corruption. Participants explored key areas such as economic theories and models of corruption, behavioural and institutional economic approaches, economic consequences of corruption, anti-corruption measures in procurement, corruption and gender, and anti-corruption in local governance. They also completed coursework in quantitative research methods, which equipped them with essential analytical tools to initiate their master’s thesis research.

To complement academic component with practical insights, the students also attended expert talks by Daniel Kaufmann on state capture, and by Adam Masters on union corruption.
