From 1 to 5 September 2025, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) jointly organized the IACA – UNODC International Anti-Corruption School for Students and Young People – Africa and LDCs 2025 Edition. This was the 9th edition of the programme, which since 2021 has been supporting young professionals in the fight against corruption. The programme is implemented with the financial support of the Republic of Austria.

This online training brought together 34 participants selected from 20 countries – Algeria, Bangladesh, Benin, Botswana, Egypt, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Togo, Uganda, and the United Republic of Tanzania.

The training was delivered by global anti-corruption experts, through live and recorded sessions.  Topics included:  What is corruption and why you should be interested?; Exploring the connection between governance and corruption; Corruption in the health sector; Whistle-blowers - why is their protection essential?; International anti-corruption frameworks; Prevention & detection of corruption in the private sector; How to enhance transparency in the infrastructure sector; Analysing the impact of corruption on human rights; and The role of the journalist in the fight against corruption.
