The thirteenth intake of the International Anti-Corruption Academy’s (IACA) Master in Anti-Corruption Studies (MACS) and the eighth cohort of the International Master in Anti-Corruption Compliance and Collective Action (IMACC) officially began in September with a welcome session hosted by the Academic Programmes Department on 1 October 2025.
It is with great pleasure that IACA welcomes students from diverse regions at the start of their two-year academic journey. Their first module introduces key foundations of anti-corruption, covering definitions, themes, trends, consequences, and measurements of corruption; an introduction to academic writing, organizational wrongdoing, ethical leadership and ethics management; politics of corruption; transparency, open government and multistakeholder participation; and anti-corruption initiatives and sport. The MACS and IMACC students will share joint courses at various stages throughout the programmes, fostering networking and peer learning.
Mr. Pawan Kumar Sinha, the Director of Academic Programmes at IACA, welcomed 25 participants in the two master’s programmes, noting they will become “future agents of change and anti-corruption experts across the globe.” Students come from Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Haiti, Kenya, Mexico, Mongolia, North Macedonia, Oman, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe. They will take interdisciplinary courses combining theory and practice in corruption prevention, counteraction, and compliance.
The students are now in the pre-study phase of their first module and will join live sessions from 20 October to 14 November 2025, followed by research-based assignments until 15 December 2025.
The MACS & IMACC Master’s Programmes are modular, postgraduate academic degree programmes that are delivered over two years and provide 120 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits, which enable graduates to enroll in Ph.D. Programmes. Both programmes offer a series of interdisciplinary courses that concentrate on concepts and applied perspectives for preventing and countering corruption and establishing solid components of compliance.
