The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) welcomed its second delegation from the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Nazaha) in September 2025 for a tailor-made training programme on “Ethical Leadership in the Time of AI”.

Held on 23 and 24 September 2025 at IACA’s campus in Laxenburg, Austria, the two-day programme offered participants an opportunity to explore how artificial intelligence can be both a powerful tool and a complex challenge in the fight against corruption.

Guided by Dr. Fernanda Odilla Vasconcellos de Figueiredo and Mr. Giovanni Leoni, the programme combined theoretical insights with interactive discussions and case studies. Sessions focused on the dual role of AI in enhancing transparency and accountability, while raising important ethical questions about its use in governance and decision-making.

The training encouraged participants to critically assess how technology-driven solutions can reinforce integrity systems, and to consider the leadership principles needed to ensure that innovation supports, rather than undermines, ethical standards.

This initiative further strengthened the cooperation between Nazaha and IACA, contributing to the ongoing development of Nazaha’s institutional expertise and human capacity. It also underscored IACA’s mission to provide practical, context-specific learning experiences that address emerging trends and challenges faced by anti-corruption professionals worldwide.
