Between 7 and 8 October 2025, IACA delivered a two-day tailor-made training in Riyadh on corruption in infrastructure, in cooperation with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Nazaha).

The training brought together 21 participants representing various public institutions for an intensive programme facilitated by Mr. Hamish Goldie-Scot, an internationally recognized expert with a distinguished background in civil engineering, good governance, and anti-corruption, and Mr. Martin Roussel, a senior finance consultant specialized in governance, risk, and compliance.

Their combined expertise greatly enriched the learning experience, providing participants with practical tools and analytical frameworks to identify, address, and mitigate corruption in infrastructure projects.

The first day of the training offered participants a solid theoretical foundation, examining the causes, consequences, and possible remedies for corruption in the infrastructure sector. Through the analysis of real-world case studies and best international practices, participants deepened their understanding of the systemic challenges and effective preventive measures in this domain.

On the second day, the training took a more practical approach, engaging participants in group discussions based on hypothetical scenarios involving corruption and misconduct in infrastructure projects. These simulations fostered critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving, enabling participants to apply their newly acquired skills to their daily work.
