From 27 to 28 January 2026, IACA delivered in Riyadh a two-day anti-corruption training programme for the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) of Saudi Arabia.

The training brought together twenty-three participants and was led by experts Anouar Ben Khelifa, Andy Chan, Joe Tam, and Nils Taxell.  The primary objective of this event was to analyze major elements of various systems to measure the effectiveness of Anti-Corruption Agencies (ACAs).

Over the course of the programme, participants gained a deeper understanding of the UNDP methodology for assessing the capacity of ACAs, including its application and lessons learned, specifically the Jakarta Principles and the Colombo commentary. They also examined IACA's Global Programme on Measuring Corruption (GPMC) and its work on measuring the effectiveness of ACAs, as well as the role of ACAs in measuring and addressing integrity and corruption risks (with a particular focus on integrity in public procurement and businesses’ experiences with bribery).

On the final day of the training, participants explored the experience of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), including in conducting annual surveys and enlisting public support.

The training included interactive exercises and case study analyses, the purpose of which was to help the participants to apply various theoretical concepts in practice. Lastly, a Roundtable Discussion on Current Practices of Measuring Effectiveness of ACAs was organized.
