From 13 to 15 May 2026, IACA participated in the IAACA EUROPE 2026 – 1st European Regional Conference in Budapest, Hungary, organized by the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) together with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, China, the Integrity Authority of Hungary (IA), the National Anti-Corruption Authority of Italy (ANAC), and the National Transparency Authority of Greece (NTA).

The conference brought together representatives of IAACA member institutions, EU officials, and experts to discuss emerging anti-corruption challenges in the digital and AI domains, while promoting cooperation and dialogue on integrity in the context of future EU enlargement.

Mr. Drago Kos, Interim Dean of IACA, delivered a keynote speech on the opening day of the conference.  Mr. Samuel De Jaegere, Head of the Global Programme at IACA, also contributed to the discussions as a panelist in the session titled “Beyond Mandates: What Makes Anti-Corruption Agencies Effective in Practice?”

On 15 May, IACA co-organized a Training Seminar on Measuring the Effectiveness of Anti-Corruption Agencies in collaboration with IA, ICAC, and IAACA. As part of the seminar, the Academy led a dedicated session entitled “Measuring the Effectiveness of Anti-Corruption Agencies,” presenting current approaches to evaluating ACA capacity and performance, including assessment tools, limitations, and key performance indicators.

On the sidelines of the conference, IACA and ICAC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), paving the way for deeper collaboration in research, knowledge exchange, academic activities, and personnel exchanges.

The conference further strengthened the long-standing cooperation between IACA and IAACA.
