On 3 June 2026, Mr. Askat Zhumagali, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, visited IACA’s campus in Laxenburg.

The meeting centred on strengthening Kazakhstan’s long-term relationship with IACA, which was reinforced by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Asset Recovery Committee of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 20 October 2025. During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their interest in enhancing cooperation, including through anti-corruption capacity-building and research initiatives.

The interlocutors agreed to continue developing a framework to advance a robust, broad-based partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and IACA and to develop ani-corruption initiatives in the Central Asian region.
