Staff in 2020 came from 14 countries
The adopted Budget earmarked 24 positions for the year 2020. Throughout the year, IACA continued to enhance its existing structure, including its expert in-house capacities. In this regard, it recruited new personnel and had one staff member under secondment appointment. The number of staff increased from 16 in January to 18 (including one secondee) in December, closing the year at that level.
All staff members passed an international screening and recruitment process and were hired under international contracts. Employees in 2020, including those under secondment appointment, came from 14 countries around the world: Afghanistan, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Dominican Republic, India, Ireland, Poland, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovakia, United States of America, and Zimbabwe.
The organization also reaffirmed its strong commitment to gender equality and female empowerment, including in its staffing. As part of the International Gender Champions Initiative, IACA is committed to ensuring gender balance in the selection and recruitment of its staff. For 2020, IACA maintained gender balance throughout the year, with 60 % female and 40 % male staff.
Interns from all regions once again supported IACA’s work by assisting the Dean and the Executive Secretary, Academic Programmes, Strategic Partnerships and Projects, Legal, Programmes and Activities, and General Management departments.
The IACA Internship Programme offered experience to 14 individuals in 2020, with each of them working for a period of three- to six-months. They came from Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Italy, the Ivory Coast, Japan, Kosovo, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, the Russian Federation, Sweden, and the United States of America.
