The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is an international organization and post-secondary educational institution which aims to substantially contribute to the fight against corruption. Through education, research, and cooperation, its goal is to overcome current shortcomings in knowledge and practice in the field of anti-corruption.

The Agreement for the Establishment of IACA as an International Organization is open for accession to UN Member States and international organizations. The instrument of accession must be deposited with the Depositary (the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs).

Each organization/institution, public or private, wishing to cooperate with IACA should send a formal request to our Secretariat, outlining the nature and purpose of intended cooperation. IACA will then assess this request based on its needs and resources.

IACA aims to attract participants from all corners of the globe of various ages and coming from different sectors of society. IACA is open to all, but especially seeks to attract individuals with work experience in a field related to anti-corruption and/or specializing in areas related to anti-corruption.

The Board of Governors is IACA's main governing organ. Its other organs are the Assembly of Parties, Dean, International Senior Advisory Board, and International Academic Advisory Board.

IACA has cooperating partners, or entities with which it has entered into cooperative arrangements such as Memoranda of Understanding, from the public and private sector, international and non-governmental organizations. It also has initiating partners - the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), INTERPOL, the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), and the Republic of Austria - all of which were fundamental for its inception. Third, IACA’s contributing partners include those private sector entities which have provided financial assistance to it.

IACA’s International Senior Advisory Board reflects on the Academy’s activities and offers advice on how the highest standards can be met and maintained. The International Academic Advisory Board offers advice on the development of programmes and selection of faculty.

IACA is financed by voluntary contributions of its Members and other contributors, as well as tuition fees.

Any individual, state, company, or organization wishing to make a contribution to IACA is encouraged to contact us. IACA will assess this request in accordance with its Policy on Contributions, exercising due diligence and ensuring continued independence.

No. IACA is not a law enforcement agency.

IACA is based in Laxenburg, Austria, 15 kilometres south of Vienna. It is housed in the Palais Kaunitz-Wittgenstein at Muenchendorferstrasse 2. 

IACA is recognized by the Republic of Austria as an institution of post-secondary education to the effect that IACA’s study programmes and academic degrees are treated equivalent to those of educational institutions accredited in accordance with the Bologna process. See the relevant provisions of IACA’s “Headquarters Agreement”, announced with Austrian Federal Law Gazette (BGBl.) III 100/2012. Please read more for further details in the Recognition section.

Organizations, corporations, and groups of individuals interested in a tailor-made training designed by IACA are encouraged to contact us with their specific needs and ideas. We will then draft a proposal for such a training, taking your sector’s needs and requirements into account. Depending on your wishes, this tailor-made training will either take place at the IACA campus, at your organization/corporation, or elsewhere.

In general, seminars can vary anywhere from one to five days and trainings can vary anywhere from a week to a month. IACA's master's programmes last for two years, combining on-site modules with distance learning.

In general, programmes are offered in the English language. The language of tailor-made trainings and regional programmes can vary according to specific requirements.

Based on the size of each programme, participants will either be accommodated in nearby hotels or in Vienna.

Tuition fees vary according to the specifics of the programme.

You can apply for standardized trainings and academic degree programmes.

Each specific programme will have its own application procedure. In general, applicants will be requested to fill out an online application form and attach accompanying documents. Applicants will have to register on the IACA website using the “Login” button at the top of the homepage in order to access the application form.
